Introduction to the Accelerated BSN Program

The Orvis School of Nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno offers an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This intensive 16-month pathway is designed for students who are ready to embark on a journey to become a nurse.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno for the term in which they are applying.
2. Submit all official transcripts to the University's Office of Admissions and Records.
3. Complete required coursework with a minimum grade of C.

Application Process

Step 1: Complete Prerequisite Courses

Complete all required prerequisite courses with a grade of 'C' or higher.

Step 2: Apply to the University

Apply to the University for the semester in which you are applying.

Step 3: Take the TEAS Exam

Complete the ATI TEAS exam with a minimum score of 65%. This must be taken within one year before your application date.

Step 4: Submit the Orvis School of Nursing Application

Complete and submit the nursing program application within the application period.

  • TEAS test window: December 1, 2024 to January 18, 2026
  • TEAS results deadline: January 18, 2026

Accreditation

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master's degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program, and post-graduate APRN certificate program at the University of Nevada, Reno Orvis School of Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
